A Tennessee woman, who arranged for a contract killer to dispose of a romantic rival , has been jailed for eight years. Melody Sasser, aged 48, confessed to using interstate commerce facilities in the commission of murder-for-hire, as confirmed by the US Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Tennessee.

She must pay out a hefty $5,300 in compensation to her intended victim and faces a three-year probation stint after her stint behind bars. The prosecutor went on record explaining: “Sasser admitted to using a dark web-hosted site known as the Online Killers Market for the purpose of hiring a hitman to murder an Alabama resident.”

The investigation into Sasser’s sinister plot kicked off in April 2023 when the police were tipped off about a plot to have a woman killed. Information leading up to her arrest came courtesy of a “foreign law enforcement agency” that provided evidence of one “cattaree” trying to hire a hit man over OKM, a notorious dark web platform masquerading as a hub where over 12,000 members could allegedly arrange killings, reports the Mirror US .

On January 11, 2023, in Prattville, Alabama, Sasser placed her request for a contract killing, as per the investigators findings. In her chilling request, Sasser allegedly insisted the murder should “needs to seem random or an accident. [O]r plant drugs,” and added, “[D]o not want a long investigation.”…
