3 arrested, charged in $1.5M drug bust in Caldwell County

CALDWELL COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Caldwell County deputies arrested three individuals in connection to trafficking narcotics totaling over $1.5M.

On Nov. 25, Caldwell County narcotic agents and detectives from the Lenoir Police Department observed two rental cars traveling one behind the other on Highway 321 in Granite Falls.

Deputies initiated stops on both vehicles and K9 Angie was used to conduct a sniff test. K9 Angie alerted deputies to the odor of narcotics and both vehicles were searched. Deputies seized approximately 22.2 pounds of methamphetamines in the trunk of one vehicle and over $30,000 from the second vehicle.

Following the seizure, the sheriff’s office’s ICE unit obtained a search warrant for the resident of the passenger in one of the vehicles, 34-year-old Kenan Ryan Michaux. A search of the residence revealed more narcotics, a stolen 2022 Jeep Rubicon from Atlanta, Georgia and a stolen shotgun from Lenoir…
