Greenville nonprofit emphasizes seriousness of human trafficking

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — January is Human Trafficking Awareness Month and local organizations are educating members of the community about the severity of it nationally and in North Carolina.

“Every January. We’re excited to recognize it as Human Trafficking Awareness and Prevention Month,” Founder of NC Stop Human Trafficking Pam Strickland said. “And so, the idea is to educate people about what human trafficking is, how we can prevent it and to help some people understand that it actually happens here in the United States and here in North Carolina, in our own community.”
