Hickory City Council met in regular session Tuesday night (January 7). Minutes, second readings, and the consent agenda were all approved. Among the items listed under second readings was the consideration of a Rezoning Petition for Property Located at 4147 River Road from Catawba County R-20 to City of Hickory Planned Development (PD).
In addition, under second readings was the consideration of proposed amendments to the Hickory City Code of Ordinance regarding Aircraft and Airports. This is related to properties surrounding the Hickory Regional Airport located in approach zones, transition zones, horizontal surface zones and conical surface zones. Staff also requested the approval of rules and regulations to help establish standard operating procedures, provide consistency, and to increase safety of operations.
Among the items listed under the consent agenda was the approval of the acceptance of the 2024 Justice Assistance Grant in the Total Amount of $29,590. The City of Hickory would receive $17,926 and the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office is set to receive $11,664…
