“Impossible to replace”; Conover mourning loss of sanitation department worker

CONOVER, N.C. ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — “It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of one of our own,” The city of Conover said in a Facebook post, mourning a member of its sanitation department who passed away in a motorcycle accident.

Around 5:40 p.m. on Friday, March 28, 35-year-old Samuel “Sam” Killian, of Taylorsville, was riding his 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle with his stepdaughter. The North Carolina State Highway Patrol said Killian was driving south on NC 16 and attempted to turn left onto Millersville Road when he crashed into a northbound 2007 Audi A4.

Unfortunately, Killian was killed at the scene, and his stepdaughter remains in critical condition.
