Large fire engulfs Morehead Social in Uptown Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A three-alarm fire erupted Saturday morning at the Morehead Social in Uptown Charlotte, prompting a large response from the Charlotte Fire Department and major traffic changes.

It broke out on the 300 block of East Morehead Street around 7:30 a.m. near South Blvd. The fire was visible when firefighters arrived, with smoke billowing from the popular social spot.

Charlotte Fire struck a second alarm shortly after they got to the scene. They worked throughout the morning to contain the flames and prevent spread to nearby structures in the busy Uptown area…
