Ray McDaniel has been fired from his job as Marion fire chief, and two of the department’s volunteer firefighters quit in front of the Marion City Council as a protest of his termination.
The subject of McDaniel’s termination came up during the public comment portion of the Marion City Council meeting on Tuesday. It was not on the council’s agenda.
McDaniel was terminated from his position as fire chief on Friday, Jan. 10, according to city officials.
