Newton man sentenced for trafficking fentanyl after selling drugs to undercover officers in 2024: DA

CATAWBA COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A 24-year-old Newton man was sentenced to six to eight years in prison following his conviction for trafficking fentanyl by possession on separate occasions on April 2.

Joshua Nathaniel Mast was given an active sentence on one of the charges and a suspended sentence of eight to 19 months for a probationary period of 36 months on the other. If the suspended sentence is activated, he will serve that sentence at the end of the active prison term.
