Whataburger, the Texas-based burger chain known for its burgers and being open 24 hours a day, broke ground on its Hickory location on Jan. 7.
Whataburger is not building a new location. Rather the restaurant is renovating the former PDQ building on U.S. Highway 70 in Hickory.
A Whataburger truck was onsite at the ceremony, serving burgers to city, county and company officials.
