Harrison County Schools experiences weekend ‘cybersecurity incident’

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WBOY) — This past Saturday, the Harrison County Board of Education faced what school officials say was a cybersecurity incident that involved unauthorized access to some of its computer systems.

According to a statement released earlier today by the board’s communications specialist, an investigation was launched as soon as school officials learned of the incident. The statement said that officials temporarily disabled the network for the duration of the extended weekend.
