Charleston Convicted Murderer Sentenced For Federal Drug Crime

CHARLESTON, W.VA.- On Wednesday, a 37-year-old Charleston, West Virginia, man, who is a previously convicted murderer, learned he would be spending nearly the next three and a half years in federal prison after being sentenced for selling fentanyl to a confidential informant in April of 2022.

On Wednesday, April 2, 2025, Charles Eugene Moore, 37, of Charleston, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia and was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Joseph R. Goodwin to 41 months in federal prison, to be followed by three years of supervised release after pleading guilty to Distribution of a Controlled Substance, Fentanyl.
