Arizona’s first visit to the WVU Coliseum on Tuesday wasn’t too dramatic. It held the lead for the final 34 minutes, 17 seconds and much of that time was spent up by double digits. There was one hectic stretch in the second half, though, one of those sequences that makes a head coach wonder if the unthinkable is going to happen to him.
WVU’s Sencire Harris, who started the season missing his first 28 3-point attempts before sinking a pair three days earlier, struck from deep on back-to-back possessions. The Mountaineers had suddenly made four straight shots. The crowd was roaring. The 15-point deficit was now just five points. Wildcats coach Tommy Lloyd called a timeout with 14:11 to go and handed out some advice in the 30-second pause.
