As we move closer to a new year, people of all ages will start to make resolutions for 2025. Many of these resolutions will be about health, wellness, weight loss and longevity. In this day in age, thankfully we hold the power of our health in our own hands. And thanks to doctors like Dr. Darshan Shah an abundance of information and technology is at our fingertips. Dr. Shah, along with his business partner, Kevin Peake, founded Next Health with a mission for the company to be your partner for vitality, longevity and personalized health. In 2016 Shah and Peake set out to revolutionize the approach to well-being, with a goal of not waiting until someone is sick to treat them but to work in advance of illness and set the body up for cellular success.

While the space itself is incredible, the man behind it is even more impressive. Dr. Shah became one of the youngest physicians in the country when he earned his medical degree at the age of 21. As a trauma and reconstructive surgeon, he has performed over 10,000 surgeries. He has trained at the Mayo Clinic as well as Harvard Business School. Throughout his years as a physician, Dr. Shah learned that “Western medicine isn’t really built for prevention. It’s incredible if you get hit by a bus, get cancer or have a heart attack. And thank God for it. We don’t have to be negative about the limits of Western medicine with prevention, we just need to balance it.” That is where the dream of Next Health stemmed – a place to help with prevention.
Dr. Shah wants everyone to understand that longevity and health doesn’t have to be hard. You can start with a few things every day and build as you go. He recommends following the 80/20 rule – do 20% to get 80% of the way there. Outside of nutritional boosters, such as supplements and IVs, and the use of modern medical machinery, exercise is something Dr. Shah recommends Next Health patients do, and the biggest thing he notes is that “what’s important about exercise isn’t how often you exercise, it’s how consistent you are. Two times a week consistently is better than nothing at all.” Dr. Shah shares wonderful information and health guidance on his weekly podcast, EXTEND with Dr. Darshan Shah, MD.
LA Splash had a chance to visit Next Health’s Studio City and West Hollywood locations to tour the stunning spaces and learn firsthand about the therapies offered, membership options and the health and healing that patients receive daily. We then got to dive headfirst into the wellness world, trying out different health modalities. First up the Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber, which promotes tissue repair, circulation and supports mental and physical energy. It’s an hour secluded in an oxygen chamber, not only to help the body rejuvenate, but the mind as well. We then tried Cryotherapy, which reduces inflammation, muscle and joint pain, and boosts collagen production. Three minutes in a freezing cold chamber may sound unbearable, but the instant boost you feel after is worth every second. We ended the day with NAD+ IV Therapy and a full body massage in a state-of-the-art massage chair. To say we walked out feeling better than when we walked in is an understatement…
