NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Officials across Middle Tennessee are urging drivers to take caution as snowfall is leading to slick conditions on several roadways and major interstates.
Davidson County
The Metro Nashville Police Department warned drivers that neighborhood and side streets were snow-covered and slippery Friday afternoon. However, interstates and major thoroughfares —like Old Hickory Boulevard and Murfreesboro Pike — had been treated and plowed.

Dickson County
According to Dickson County Sheriff’s Eads, Highway 48 North is causing problems in Charlotte. Officials said roads will become slick as temperatures begin to drop Friday evening.
Giles County
Officials in Giles County strongly recommended drivers stay off the roads on Friday. In fact, emergency personnel began tying yellow caution tape to mirrors of disabled vehicles to signify that first responders had checked the vehicle. Giles County Emergency Services said the tape helped crews avoid units from being sent the same abandoned and disabled vehicles.
Humphreys County
A portion of Interstate 40 was closed briefly Friday afternoon after a tractor trailer jackknifed in the westbound lanes. TDOT officials said the incident happened in a construction zone, adding that no serious injuries were reported. All lanes have since reopened.
Maury County
The Columbia Police Department warned drivers that roads will “worsen as the day goes on.” Those who must drive and being advised to use extreme caution.
Due to temperatures Friday evening, black ice may start to form on roadways throughout Cookeville. Cookeville police said “even though the roads may not be snow covered, the presence of black ice still presents a potential roadway hazard. This invisible hazard can create extremely slippery surfaces, increasing the risk of accidents.” If possible, motorists are asked to stay home until conditions improve.
Robertson County
At 3:25 p.m., the White House Volunteer Fire Department took to social media to announce that Highway 76 was closed due to a crash. The department later added that the driver was able to exit the vehicle on their own.

Williamson County
A portion of I-840 was closed briefly Friday afternoon after tractor-trailer jackknifed near mile marker 16 in the eastbound lanes. According to TDOT, the crash took place just before 4 p.m. and a loader was able to move the vehicle.
Wilson County
Around 4:30 p.m., deputies in Wilson County said road conditions had “significantly deteriorated.” Roads were reportedly treated and salted with brine earlier in the day, but officials said they later received multiple calls about overturned vehicles and motorists that needed assistance…
