The Washington State Patrol (WSP) will be increasing patrols across key travel routes from November 21 through December 1 as Washington State University (WSU) students journey home for the Thanksgiving holiday break.
Troopers from District 4, covering Spokane, Whitman, and Adams counties, along with District 6 troopers in Grant and Kittitas counties, will focus on enforcing speed limits, including addressing driving too fast for conditions, distracted or impaired driving, and other violations that often lead to collisions.
Travelers to and from WSU should anticipate a heightened WSP presence on State Routes 26 and 195, as well as Interstate 90 over Snoqualmie Pass. Motorists are urged to adhere to posted speed limits and prepare for the possibility of changing road and winter weather conditions.
