Southeast Ohio – Heavy snow and ice will create dangerous travel conditions across the region through Tuesday morning, as a significant winter storm grips the area. Roads are expected to become treacherous with snow accumulations of up to 10 inches and ice buildup making bridges and overpasses particularly hazardous.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Charleston, the storm will persist until 1 a.m. Tuesday, impacting counties including Athens, Gallia, and Washington. Ice accumulation of up to three-tenths of an inch is likely, posing risks of widespread power outages and damage to tree limbs.
