Consumers Energy announced bold plans to modernize and strengthen Michigan’s natural gas infrastructure, which serves over 1.8 million homes and businesses. Key updates include replacing 10,000 aging service lines, installing remotely operated valves for emergencies, and upgrading distribution lines to reduce gas leaks.
“Our Natural Gas Delivery Plan ensures safety, reliability, and affordability while supporting Michigan’s environment,” said Holly Bowers, VP of gas engineering.
The company’s improvements include completing the Mid-Michigan Pipeline and modernizing gas hubs. These updates are part of a $248 million rate request under review.…
