On the day of her retirement, West End Baptist Church pianist Linda Thompson was presented with the Order of the Silver Crescent Sunday morning from State Rep. Dennis Moss. The state’s most prestigious service award was given by Gov. Henry McMaster in recognition of Thompson’s 70 years of distinguished service as the church pianist and her volunteer work.
