CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – As Hurricane Helene approaches the Lowcountry, clean storm drains make a difference in how heavy rains affect city neighborhoods.

The City of Charleston’s Adopt-A-Drain program allows volunteers to adopt city drains in local areas. The idea is to ease the flow of stormwater and reduce pollution going into nearby waterways.
