GALLERY: Lynden volleyball sweeps Meridian 3-0

BELLINGHAM — Lynden volleyball defeated Meridian on Sept. 17 three sets to none and pushed their record to 2-0 overall. The Lions won the first set ​​25-17, the second set 25-16, and the final set 25-15.

Sophomore Finley Parcher and junior Rian Stephan combined for 21 kills and led the team. Parcher finished the night with 11 kills and Stephan with 10. Among Lynden’s other leaders included sophomore Lexi Hermanutz with three blocks and senior Kamryn Hermanutz led the game with 10 digs. Freshman Izzie Stephan, the younger sister of Rian, collected 31 assists and three aces. 

Meridian freshman outside hitter Melanie Short tied PArcher for the game lead in kills with 11 and also collected seven digs. Senior libero Rylan Bernardy collected 10 digs and senior setter Grace Wells amassed 16 assists…
