COUPEVILLE, Wash. – Ferries are delayed at the Coupeville terminal Friday due to logjams, with transportation officials saying they could turn into cancelations under the right conditions.
Delays impacted Washington State Ferries vessels at the Coupeville terminal in Keystone Harbor on December 27.
“We have a schedule but sometimes nature has other plans. We are dealing with delays due to log jams in #KeystoneHarbor at our #Coupeville terminal. Logs can seriously damage our vessels, turning delays into cancelations,” the WSF X (formerly Twitter) account posted on Friday.
One user asked how the service clears the logjams, to which WSF responded by saying they usually let nature take its course unless debris are small enough to be removed with rescue boats.
