It is a pitch-black, quiet morning on Lake Samish for the Western Washington women’s rowing team. At 5 a.m., before the neighbors wake up near the Lutherwood Camp and Retreat Center, head coach Courtney Moeller leads her team around the water.
“It’s great to have Courtney because she has a lot of familiarity with the program,” senior rower Lex Clark said. “It is good to have someone who knows the ins and outs and can train us.”
