CHP asks for public’s help solving fatal freeway shooting near San Jose

Authorities asked for the public’s help identifying a suspect in a shooting on Interstate 280 near San Jose that left one person dead Monday night.

At approximately 9:57 p.m. Monday, officers responded to a reported vehicle crash in the center divide of I-280 north of De Anza Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol. Once at the scene, officers found one person in the vehicle suffering from crash-related injuries and transported the victim to a local hospital, where the victim was pronounced dead.

Doctors later told law enforcement that the victim’s injuries included a gunshot wound to the head, CHP said. The victim’s identity was not immediately available…
