EL PASO, Texas — Middle Tennessee volleyball fell to UTEP by a score of 0-3 in the first match of the two-match series. The Blue Raiders played well in the second set but were unable to finish off the Miners, losing 23-25. The scores of the first and third sets were both 12-25.

The Blur Raiders (11-14, 6-7) hit an underwhelming .066 in the match to the Miners (21-4, 11-2) .442. Middle Tennessee volleyball holds a 2-10 record when hitting under .200 and a 1-4 record when their opponent hits above .300. The Blue Raiders have yet to win a match when recording less kills than the opposition, falling to 0-9. Four Blue Raiders recorded five or more digs with those beingKiera Booth, Alivia Bronner, Laure Jansen and Andi Spies. Bronner led the pack with eight. Freshman Andi Spies finished the match with 20 assists to go along with two blocks. Following a performance where she recorded her 1,000th kill, junior Adriana Rhoda led the team with 9 kills.
