Tennessee ranks 9th for states where families struggle with cost of living

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – If you’ve been feeling the financial pressure of the holidays in Tennessee, you’re likely not alone.

According to a report, Tennessee is one of the top 10 states that has been hit hardest by the “cost of living crisis.”

The research conducted by TurboDebt evaluated 13 factors linked to a state’s financial strain, including the following:

  • Inflation rates
  • Affordable housing
  • Utility costs
  • Median income
  • Access to essential services
  • Average grocery spending
