Metro advises ExpressLanes customers to not respond to phishing text messages

This week, Metro ExpressLanes customer service has experienced an increase in call volume from customers regarding phishing texts they have received. We are also aware that other FasTrak customers in Southern California are being targeted by scammers.

As soon as Metro became aware of the fraudulent text messages, we posted a warning about it on our ExpressLanes website home page. The ExpressLanes system has not been hacked, and no customer information has been compromised.

Metro ExpressLanes reminds customers that we never send text messages asking for sensitive information or requesting payment. If a text message claims to be from Metro ExpressLanes regarding tolls or violations, do not respond to the message, do not use any links in the message, and do not use any contact information provided in the message…
