GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Fall cleanup is well underway in West Michigan. Many cities are helping to make it easier for residents by offering pick-up or drop-off options.
BATTLE CREEK
In Battle Creek, the city uses Republic Services to pick up yard waste and leaves until Dec. 6.
According to the city’s website , the items must be put into paper bags that are made for yard waste or in containers clearly marked as yard waste. Labels are available from the city’s utility billing at City Hall, located at 10 N. Division St., or at the department of public works building, located at 150 S. Kendall St.
Battle Creek also has a drop-off location at Brice Pit, located at 715 W. River Road. It is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
GRAND HAVEN
The city of Grand Haven contracts with Republic Services to collect yard waste at the curbside from April 1 to Dec. 31. The debris needs to be put into paper yard waste bags or a container marked “yard waste,” the city’s website said.
