Oklahoma Fish Populations Are Looking Great This Summer

While you’re very much advised against eating them, the new generation of lunkers are coming along nicely in area lakes. Surveying is being done to help manage and encourage population growth across the state in hopes that fishing, for sport only because fish is practically vegetables, returns to the glory days activity it has been for so long.

As we roll into the heat of summer after having such a mild and warm winter and spring, there’s a real chance the bait fish – shad and minnows – were able to squeeze in an extra spawn or two. That means more food for the fish to bulk up on, faster growth, etc…..
