FLORENCE, S.C. (WBTW) — Five Grand Strand and Pee Dee-area men have been sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to federal drug and weapons charges, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
The sentences stem from a fentanyl trafficking conspiracy operating in and around Horry County. Those sentenced include:
- Joshua Rodriguez, 33, of Myrtle Beach, 151 months, conspiracy to distribute fentanyl
- Derrick Adrien Hooks, Jr., 27, of Chesterfield, 96 months, conspiracy to distribute fentanyl
- Christopher Brown, 32, of Pawleys Island, 84 months, conspiracy to distribute fentanyl
- Jonathan Thien Ta, 32, of Myrtle Beach, 50 months, felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition; the sentence will run consecutive to a state sentence he is serving on separate firearms-related conduct
- Neil Alexander Torres, 32, of Myrtle Beach, 18 months, felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition.
Rodriguez and Brown will have five years of court-ordered supervision after their prison sentences; Hook will have to serve four years of court-ordered supervision, while Ta and Torres will be required to serve three years of court-ordered supervision.
