Boise gets revenge on Rocky Mountain in 6A state championship

Just a little more than a week ago, Boise lost to Rocky Mountain in the District III championship in overtime. In that contest, the Brave were down to 10 men and led 2-1 in the final minutes. The Grizzlies came back to tie and win the match in overtime.

Boise got revenge in the game that mattered most. The two squared off once again in the 6A state championship in Coeur d’Alene Saturday afternoon. Once again, overtime was needed to separate the two.

This time, the Brave scored the game-winning goal. Alex Hoefer scored the golden goal to win Boise their seventh state title since 2007. Hoefer’s goal came on a penalty after a foul on the goalkeeper…
