Pittsburg Police Department has reported an unfortunate incident that occurred on Monday evening. Officers were called to a scene of devastation where a single vehicle had collided with a power pole and a fire hydrant in the 1400 block of E. Leland Road, as per a social media post by the Pittsburg Police Department. The impact of the crash caused a fire, ultimately consuming the vehicle and its lone driver, who tragically succumbed to the incident.
Following the accident, the area experienced a power outage, and efforts to manage the emergency required closures of both directions of E. Leland Road. Traffic was cordoned off with visible barriers and patrol vehicles to ensure the area was secure for emergency operations. However, this did not prevent another distressing occurrence.
