Attempted murder charges filed against Chicago woman accused in double stabbing, carjacking on Southwest Side

CHICAGO — A Chicago woman accused of stabbing two people during a carjacking and subsequent crash on the Southwest Side is now facing a handful of felony charges.

According to Chicago police, 21-year-old Vanessa Delgado, a Clearing resident, has been charged with two felony counts of attempted first-degree murder, two felony counts of aggravated battery with the use of a deadly weapon, two felony counts of aggravated battery causing great bodily harm and one felony count of aggravated vehicular hijacking with a weapon.

Officers said the charges stemmed from a string of incidents that allegedly began in the city’s Garfield Ridge neighborhood just before 7 a.m. on Thursday…
