A crash shut down a portion of a busy stretch of road in Shorewood earlier today. Crews were called to the intersection of Route 59 and Sunrise Drive around 9:40 for a report of a crash with injuries. Upon arrival, officers found that three people among both cars were injured in the crash.
All three occupants were transported to Ascension St. Joseph Medical Center, with one of those transported in critical condition.
Initial investigation, handled by the Illinois State Police, determined that one of the vehicles was attempting to turn left onto northbound Route 59 from Sunset, where they were struck by a vehicle also traveling north…
