Woman accused of stealing from Naperville Home Depot while out on pre-trial release for alleged retail theft

CHICAGO — Felony charges have been filed against a Naperville woman accused of stealing more than $1,500 worth of merchandise from a home improvement store while out on pre-trial release for allegedly stealing from two other suburban stores.

Florence Twu, a 41-year-old Naperville resident, has been charged with one felony count of burglary and one felony count of retail theft, DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin announced in a press release on Wednesday.

The charges stem from an incident that prosecutors said allegedly unfolded on Tuesday afternoon at a Home Depot in the 2900 block of Audrey Avenue in Naperville.

Prosecutors said they were called to the store just after 6 p.m. following a report of an alleged retail theft. Following an investigation, officers determined that Twu had allegedly entered the store and placed more than 50 items, which were valued at around $1,630, in her backpack and a shopping cart before she left without paying for her items…
