OBITUARY
Carol (Chambers) Ames, born September 30, 1932, went to that great quilting bee in the sky on March 9, 2022. Carol was many things, including a musician and a craftsperson, but mostly she was in the running for the world’s greatest mom, which can’t have been easy considering the two rapscallions she had for sons.Carol took up quilting later in life, when she and her husband, Dave, retired to Naples, Florida. Her works adorned the walls of the memory care unit where she spent her last days, and when the nurses and staff would walk into the room they’d look around and say:“I feel like I’m in a museum.”Her quilts were that good.Carol graduated from Harvey High School in Painesville, Ohio in 1950.
