LOWELL, Mass. – The #7 University of Maine men’s ice hockey team completed a road sweep over #8 UMass Lowell with a 2-1 win on Saturday night at the Tsongas Center.
Maine jumped out to a 2-0 lead just nine minutes into the opening stanza. Nolan Renwick’s sixth of the year off of a feed from Taylor Makar made it 1-0 just 1:54 into the contest. Thomas Freel’s power-play tally then came seven minutes later.
The River Hawks would fight back, putting an even-strength goal home in the second period, but Maine held on for the 2-1 win…
