Both Haverhill city officials and the owner of a downtown cannabis shop are celebrating the end of more than three years of contentious legal action.
As WHAV reported first Friday, Stem Haverhill and the city reported reaching resolution on so-called “community impact fees” after marathon talks Thursday. Although talks were completed with the help of mediator Amin Danai, specific terms still must be committed to a formal agreement before the pact becomes public. On Friday, Essex County Superior Court set a deadline of Jan. 13, 2025 to file such an “agreement or stipulation.” Caroline Pineau, owner of Stem at 124 Washington St., in Haverhill, told WHAV she is happy to move on.
“I feel really good. I feel like it was a great decision for me and my business, my family and the city. We look forward to doing future business. I applaud the administration for getting this done,” Pineau said…
