Metro Social Services to host Nashville’s first food pop-up event

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Metro Social Services announced that they would be hosting Nashville’s first-ever public community “Food Pop-Up” event.

MSS said social workers noticed an increase in requests and a need to support people struggling with high costs of living, inflation and COVID recovery. The biggest request was for access to food.

Two reports are released annually by MSS that “identify trends and patterns diagnosing the social and economic well-being of Nashville residents.” The most recent evaluation found that one-in-10 Nashvillians are food insecure, half of Nashville workers earn below a living wage and economic hardship is widespread in the area…
