Two friends from Little Chute team up to provide hands-on relief after southern hurricanes

LITTLE CHUTE, Wis. (WBAY) – In an effort to help those affected, a pair of friends from Little Chute, 21-year-old Ethan Smocke and 23-year-old Eric Geurden are dropping everything back home in Wisconsin to endure a week-long trip down south where they will provide hands-on hurricane relief.

When Eric and Ethan met as kids, they say they could have never envisioned the trip they are currently preparing to take ten years later.

It all started with Smocke speaking with family members in North Carolina about the wreckage left behind by Hurricane Helene, which led to what he considers “a calling from the lord” to take action…
