After a fallen log creates a ‘wildlife bridge’ over a creek in his yard, resident sets up camera

We all know about raccoons and opossums and coyotes. Those have become part of the landscape pretty much all over East Greenwich. But it turns out there are a lot more wild things out there and, thanks to Peter Green, we can see a lot of them in the fascinating video he has compiled from the camera he installed after a log fell over the creek in his backyard. Between March and December of this year, the camera captured 17 different types of animals. Of course, there were the raccoons – whole families of them – crossing over the bridge. And opossums and coyotes. But there were foxes and owls, mink and fishers, wood ducks and a great blue heron … and more! It’s extraordinary and utterly ordinary. After all, these animals have been here all along…
