We don’t have a fancy drone so I decided to give this the Sears “cherished memories” portrait studio treatment. The good news is that the Independent Man has been safely returned to his perch on top of the State House dome. December 18th was a very cold day so the crew sent him up with a scarf which was cute. It has since been removed. This was the statue’s first renovation since 1976. Not only did the statue need work, but the dome had some alarming structural issues that needed attention.
