FALL RIVER — A special forum was brought to the table during an Oct. 22 Committee on Finance meeting where the former president of the Flint Neighborhood Association, Carlos Cesar, in conversation with City Administrator Seth Aitken and Gates of Hope’s president Faith Bon Jovi, unwound the timeline of the sale of the former Davol School at 112 Pleasant St. leading up to the city reclaiming it.
Cesar turned the property over to the city in September, after 10 years of the building idling for development. But, on Aug. 14, a month earlier, a potential buyer for the property conducted a purchase and sale report, with an offer of $70,000 for the former Davol School that had been in process for about a year.
When City Councilor Laura-Jean Sampson asked for confirmation as to the timing of these events, Cesar disclosed that he had resigned from being president of Flint’s Neighborhood Association, “and that’s why we’re here,” he said…
