MAYSVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — A historic park and Monarch Butterfly garden are coming to Maysville in the future.
The Jones-Onslow Community Basin Initiative’s 501-C3 program is helping to bring the park to the town to honor past figures and families that are part of the local area’s history.
“It’s been something that’s been on my mind for a long time. We have talked about doing this for years and after some organization members retired, we got together and said let’s see what we can do to help the people of the community and show our history all the way back to the 1700s,” White Oak Jones-Onslow Community Basin Initiatives Chair Ann Dudley Meadows said. “We want to do what we can to put it at the forefront instead of just in the books.”…
