News 8 drone footage captures flood damage in western Connecticut

SOUTHBURY, Conn. (WTNH) — Roads closed, bridges out and buildings washed away. That is just a look at some of the devastation in the western part of the state.

“It’s awful,” Cathy Dibner, who ran her business Cathy’s House of Chickens behind her Southbury property. “Blood, sweat and tears we’ve put into this property and it was gone in a matter of a minute.”

In video shot by the News 8 drone, you can see the pavilion which stood next to an inground pool. Now everything is covered in mud.

What is most devastating for Dibner is the loss of her livestock barn, which was collapsed by the flood waters during Sunday night’s storm…
