Youngstown police officers were dispatched to the South Side neighborhood near the old Idora Park amusement park about 11:15 p.m. Sept. 19 to investigate a report of shots being fired.
The officers encountered a man in the 900 block of Lanterman Avenue who reported that a black SUV kept driving up and down his street. The man also reported seeing a man in the 800 block of Lanterman Avenue before someone started shooting at the black SUV, the report stated. About eight rounds were observed entering the vehicle.
