Naperville, IL – A Naperville man accused of killing his family’s dog and threatening his stepdaughters has been denied pre-trial release. Judge Joshua Dieden granted the state’s motion to detain Nathan Gonzalez, 36, after his arrest on multiple charges, including aggravated cruelty to animals and child endangerment.

According to DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin, Gonzalez allegedly killed the family dog, Rocco, during a domestic dispute on September 29. Police responded to a 911 call from Gonzalez’s 14-year-old stepdaughter, who reported her stepfather threatened her and her younger sister.

Authorities later found Rocco’s body at a construction site, with a necropsy revealing blunt force trauma as the cause of death. Gonzalez was located hiding behind a dumpster near the family home…
