Delaware State Police have identified the 80-year-old pedestrian who was fatally hit by a car on Monday afternoon near New Castle as Sadhu Singh of New Castle.
Police said Singh was attempting to cross Route 13 (South Dupont Highway) near Heddington Road when he walked “directly into the path” of a car heading north. The driver tried to swerve out of the way, but was unable to avoid hitting Singh.
Singh was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, a 40-year-old man from Smyrna, was not injured in the crash…
