NEW LEXINGTON — The New Lexington Police Department has announced the establishment of the New Lexington Police Department Chaplain Unit, a new initiative designed to provide guidance and support to officers and community members while strengthening the bond between the police department and the local faith community.
The Chaplain Unit will launch with the involvement of Pastor Jon Emory of New Lexington Baptist Church and Pastor Jeff Gilkerson of Grace Community Church of the Nazarene. Both pastors have worked closely with Chief Gill to shape the vision of the program, which aims to create a foundation of trust, compassion, and collaboration in New Lexington.
“We hope to involve additional faith leaders in this effort,” said Chief Gill. “This Chaplain Unit is not just spiritual support — it’s about building a stronger, more unified community where people feel cared for and connected.”…
