POUGHKEEPSIE – City police are investigating a shooting that sent a victim to the hospital late Saturday night around 11:00 p.m. The lack of evidence at the alleged scene of the shooting indicates that the victim may not be telling the truth about how he received the bullet wound.
The victim drove himself to Vassar Brothers Medical Center and left his Mazda sedan in the fire lane with the engine running while he went into the emergency department for treatment. The police were notified and responded to the hospital, interviewed the victim, and secured the sedan as evidence.
The victim says the shooting occurred in the vicinity of the Eastman apartments at 22 Montgomery Street. A few officers went to Eastman and canvassed the parking lot searching for evidence of a shooting and the results were negative…
