A suspected carjacking Monday afternoon prompted the lockdown of Arnall Middle School and White Oak Elementary School as sheriff’s deputies pursued two armed suspects, one of whom remains at large.

Deputies responded to an address on Hyde Circle, where two armed suspects allegedly confronted a woman, pointed handguns at her, and stole her vehicle, according to Christopher Ricketson, public information officer for the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office.

Soon after, deputies located the stolen vehicle on GA 34 and attempted a traffic stop. The driver refused to yield, leading to a brief pursuit that ended when deputies executed a P.I.T. maneuver, causing the vehicle to crash near the 1100 block of Lora Smith Road…
